Jay 2010 Inspiration

For Fall 2010 JAY GODFREY was inspired by the photos of Ellen Von Unwerth and Jeanloup Sieff.
The black and white images are beautifully sexy in their celebration of the female form.

The striking images inspired laced-up and corseted seams, mesh panels and a few darkly dangerous designs geared towards the fun and freedom of our contemporary lifestyle. This mood translates to clothes that are clean and modern with cutouts, low backs, feminine ruffles and touches of ostrich feathers strategically placed to evoke a certain sauciness and sensuality. There is an obvious contrast between shape and fabrication: evening fabrics such as silks and jacquards are cut in casual easy shapes, whereas sporty daytime fabrics like t-shirt and sweatshirt jersey are draped in provocative and unexpected ways that challenge our preconceived notions about what is casual and dressy.

Cannot Wait!
